ποΈ Shattila Ekadashi Vrat Katha
Once upon a time, in the holy town of Varanasi, there lived a devout Brahmin named Shridhar. He was a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu and observed all the Ekadashi fasts with unwavering faith and dedication.
One day, as Shridhar was performing his daily prayers, he came across a sage who was sitting under a banyan tree. The sage approached Shridhar and revealed that he was the messenger of Lord Vishnu. He told Shridhar about the significance of the upcoming Shattila Ekadashi and the benefits of observing a fast on this auspicious day.
The sage explained that observing the Shattila Ekadashi fast with complete devotion would cleanse one’s soul and bring about happiness, prosperity, and spiritual liberation. He also narrated the story of a king named Mandhata, who was relieved of all his sins and granted a place in heaven by observing this sacred fast.
Impressed by the sage’s words, Shridhar decided to observe the Shattila Ekadashi fast with utmost sincerity. On the day of Ekadashi, he woke up before sunrise, took a holy bath, and performed his prayers with pure heart and mind. Throughout the day, he abstained from food and water, and spent his time in meditation and chanting the name of Lord Vishnu.
As the day passed, Shridhar felt a sense of peace and tranquility engulfing him. He felt closer to the divine and experienced a deep sense of spiritual awakening. As the sun set, Shridhar broke his fast by offering prasad to Lord Vishnu and sought his blessings for the well-being of his family and loved ones.
The following day, Shridhar witnessed a positive transformation in his life. His business flourished, and his family prospered in every aspect. He realized that observing the Shattila Ekadashi fast had brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
From that day onwards, Shridhar became a staunch advocate of observing the Shattila Ekadashi fast and spread the message of its significance to everyone he knew.
And so, the Shattila Ekadashi fast became a revered tradition in the town of Varanasi, and people from far and wide came to observe this sacred fast, seeking blessings and spiritual enlightenment.
May the story of Shridhar inspire us to observe the Shattila Ekadashi fast with devotion and faith, and may Lord Vishnu bestow his blessings upon us all. Jai Shri Krishna!
