It is believed that observing this vrat brings prosperity, forgiveness, and spiritual growth.
ποΈ Apara Ekadashi Vrat Katha
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Varanasi, there lived a devout Brahmin named Devadutta. He was a firm believer in the power of fasting and would observe all the Ekadashi vrats with great dedication.
One year, on the day of Apara Ekadashi in the month of May, Devadutta decided to observe the vrat with utmost sincerity. He woke up before sunrise, took a bath in the holy Ganges, and performed his morning prayers. Throughout the day, he refrained from consuming any food or water, and spent his time in meditation and reciting hymns in praise of Lord Vishnu.
As the day turned into night, Devadutta continued his prayers with unwavering devotion. He prayed for the well-being of his family, for the peace and prosperity of the kingdom, and for the forgiveness of his sins. He sought the blessings of Lord Vishnu to guide him on the path of righteousness and grant him enlightenment.
The next day, as Devadutta concluded his vrat with the breaking of the fast, he felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over him. He knew that his prayers had been heard and that Lord Vishnu had bestowed his blessings upon him.
From that day on, Devadutta’s faith in the power of fasting and prayer grew even stronger. He continued to observe the Ekadashi vrats with unwavering dedication, and his devotion to Lord Vishnu deepened with each passing day.
And so, the significance of Apara Ekadashi vrats and the power of unwavering devotion were once again reaffirmed in the hearts of the people, thanks to the steadfast dedication of Devadutta.
