A rich businessman lived in a city. His business was spread far and wide. All the people of the city respected that businessman. Even after all this was completed, that businessman was very sad, because he had no son. Due to which the concern of the successor of business after his death was always harassing him. With the desire to attain the son, Vyapari used to fasting Lord Shiva every Monday and went to the Shiva temple in the evening and lit a lamp of ghee in front of Shiva. Seeing her devotion, Mother Parvati was pleased and requested Lord Shiva to fulfill the wishes of that businessman.
Lord Shiva said: In this world, everyone gets fruit according to his karma. Those who do karma like creatures get the same fruit.
Despite persuasion by Shiva, Mother Parvati did not listen and she kept repeatedly requesting Shivji to fulfill the wishes of that businessman. Finally, seeing the insistence of the mother, Lord Bholenath had to give a boon to the businessman.
After giving a boon, Bholenath said to Maa Parvati: On your insistence I gave the boon of getting a son, but his son will not live for more than 16 years. The same night Lord Shiva came to the dream of that businessman and gave him a boon to get a son and also told his son to survive for 16 years.
The businessman was happy with the boon of God, but the worry of the son’s young age destroyed that happiness. The businessman continued to fasting Lord Shiva on Monday as before. After a few months, a very beautiful child was born to his house, and happiness was filled with happiness in the house.
The birth of a son was celebrated with great pomp, but the businessman did not have much pleasure in the son-birth because he knew the mystery of the son’s little age. When the son was 12 years old, the businessman sent him to Varanasi to study with his maternal uncle. The boy went to get education with his maternal uncle. On the way, wherever maternal uncle-nephew would stay for rest, he used to perform Yajna and offer food to the Brahmins.
After a long journey, maternal uncle and nephew reached a city. That day the girl of the city was married to the girl, due to which the entire city was decorated. The procession arrived at a certain time, but the father of the groom was very worried because his son was with one eye. He was afraid that the king would not refuse marriage when he came to know about this.
This will also make him slander. When the groom’s father saw the businessman’s son, an idea came to his mind. He thought why not make this boy a groom and get married to the princess. After marriage, I will give it away from giving money and take the princess to his city.
The father of the groom spoke to the boy’s maternal uncle in this regard. The maternal uncle admitted to the father of the groom in the greed to get the money. The boy was married to the princess by wearing a groom’s clothes.
The king sent a lot of money to the princess. After marriage, when the boy was returning from the princess, he could not hide the truth and he wrote on the princess’s wealth: Princess, you were married to me, I am going to read Varanasi and now you have to be the wife of the young man, he is to be a kana.
When the princess read written on her coverage, she refused to go with the boy. When the king came to know all these things, he kept the princess in the palace itself.
On the other hand, the boy reached Varanasi with his maternal uncle and started studying in Gurukul. When he was 16 years old, he performed a yajna. At the end of the yajna, he provided food to the Brahmins and donated a lot of food, clothes. At night he slept in his bedroom. According to the boon of Shiva, his life-Pakhidu flew away. At sunrise, the maternal uncle started crying and weeping after seeing the dead nephew. People around also gathered and started expressing grief.
Lord Shiva and Mother Parvatiji also heard the cry of the boy’s maternal uncle’s cry, mourning.
Mother Parvati said to God: Prannath, I am not tolerating the voice of its crying. You must remove the suffering of this person.
When Lord Shiva went closer with Goddess Parvati, he said to Bholenath, Mata Parvati: He is the son of the same businessman whom I gave a boon of 16 years of age. Its age is complete.
Mother Parvati then requested Lord Shiva and requested to give life to that child. On the insistence of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva gave the boon to the boy to be alive and in a few moments he sat up alive.
After finishing education, the boy walked towards his city with maternal uncle. Both reached the same city where he was married. In that town too, a sacrificial ritual was conducted. While passing by, the king of the city saw the yagna and he immediately recognized the boy and his maternal uncle.
At the end of the yajna, King took the maternal uncle and the boy to the palace and kept them in the palace and gave him a lot of money, clothes etc. and sent them off with the princess.
Here, the businessman and his wife were waiting for the son. He had vowed that if he got the news of his son’s death, both would give up their lives, but as soon as he heard the news of the son returning to alive, he was very happy. He reached the city gate with his wife and friends.
Hearing the news of his son’s marriage, his daughter -in -law was not happy to see the princess. The same night Lord Shiva came to the businessman’s dream and said: O superior, I have given a long life to your son by being pleased with your Monday fast and listening to the fast. The son’s long life was very happy.
All the wishes of the businessman were fulfilled by being a devotee of Shiva and on Monday, similarly, all their wishes are fulfilled by the devotees who duly fast on Monday and listen to the fast.
