Devotees Begin Celebrations as Sawan Month Commences
The sacred month of Sawan began on July 11, 2025. According to Hindu scriptures, this period is considered highly auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. It is believed that during Sawan, Lord Shiva descends to Earth and blesses his devotees with special grace.
This month holds great religious significance as it symbolizes devotion, penance, and spiritual awakening. Devotees engage in prayer, charity, and various righteous acts, with the belief that worship during Sawan yields fruitful results.

Religious Significance and Rituals
As per scriptures, Lord Shiva not only blesses his followers during Sawan 2025 but is also said to oversee the functioning of the universe during this time. To seek his blessings, devotees across the country organize elaborate rituals and worship ceremonies at temples.
The month also marks the beginning of the annual Kanwar Yatra, where devotees collect holy water from sacred rivers and offer it at Shiva temples and Jyotirlingas. This spiritual journey is seen as an act of devotion and penance.
